You’ve Used 0
My eyes gaze at the familiar words on the screen. I often find myself in the predicament of never knowing where to start. I haven’t done anything worth noting. Nothing worth admiring, or remembering. 200 characters, you’ve used 0. The words taunt my tired eyes. I haven’t written anything worth reading, I’m not even something worth writing about. You’ve used 0. Truthfully, all I need 0. What good would I do with 200 letters? What could I do with 100 words? Why waste a moment typing a thought, that’s not worth having? And yet, I persist. Letter by letter, I find a reason. A thing to say, a new sentence built. Short as it is, meaningless as it seems. You’ve used 0. For now, but not for long. Slowly I’ll become confident and I won’t care what others see. I’ll write about nothing worth noting, and I won’t worry that it’s not important to you. Because it was to me, and I didn’t need any more reason than that. And one day far from now, I’ll look down to see words I’ve never read before, you’re out of characters.
